Crane operators control, operate and maintain cranes.
They transport the crane parts to the construction site and monitor the safe and correct installation of the cranes.
In the actual crane work – the lifting, moving and setting down of heavy loads such as concrete slabs, concrete pillars or wooden beams – they have to work very concentrated.
In doing so, they must recognize the center of gravity of the loads and compensate for the pendulum movement.
Crane operators work together with specialists and assistants on the ground and communicate via radio or with the help of international hand signals.
Crane operators also carry out maintenance, inspection and instant maintenance work and keep crane control books and work logs.
